ODLog universal binary now available

Macropod Software announces free upgrade to their scientific data collection application for Mac OS X

Macropod Software has announced the version 2.5 release of their scientific data collection package called ODLog. This easy-to-use application simplifies the manual timing and recording of live or videotaped observational data. The new release introduces native support for all newer Intel-based Macintosh computers, while maintaining native support for older pre-Intel Macintosh computers.

ODLog was primarily designed for the manual scoring of live or videotaped observational data by researchers working in the behavioral sciences. Typical usages include the timing and logging of data in naturalistic field observation studies, animal behavior experiments, and human psychological experiments.

Data timing and logging is facilitated by an intuitive user interface whereby keyboard keys are assigned to behavioral events. The user simply presses and holds the appropriate key when the event is observed. A customizable data file is created in real time which can be saved as text, printed, or imported into a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel™ or statistical analysis program such as SPSS™ for analysis.

A standard ODLog license can be purchased from the Macropod Software web site (www.macropodsoftware.com) for $159. Purchasers from educational institutions pay only $129 for an academic license. Registered users of ODLog version 2.x can upgrade to the new version 2.5 free of charge. Registered users of ODLog version 1.x can upgrade to version 2 for $99 (or $79 to upgrade an academic license).

A fully functioning 15-day evaluation copy of ODLog can be downloaded from Macropod Software's web site at www.macropodsoftware.com.
